About WASFF

The Western Australian Science Fiction Foundation (WASFF) is a non profit, community based organisation that aims to promote science fiction in all mediums in Western Australia.

WASFF provides a legal and financial framework supporting community events such as Swancon, the yearly WASFF Short Story Competition, and the Australian SF Wiki.

WASFF is 100% volunteer run and we invite participation in our activities from all interested members of our community.

Acknowledging our First Storytellers

Swancon and WASFF acknowledge the Whadjuk Nyoongar people of Boorloo and all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Traditional Custodians of Country. Our community recognises their continuing connection to land, sea, culture, community and celebrates them as this lands oldest storytellers. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and those still imagining their future.

Swancon is an annual speculative fiction conference, run by fans for fans, in Perth, Western Australia. Join us for a weekend of panels, discussions, workshops, games, art, a pop culture market room and more.
